Tonsillectomy yesterday, already able to eat soft solids, how rare is this?

That does seem to be rare. My daughter had her tonsils removed over three years ago and she couldn't eat anything at first. However, she didn't need the pain and anti-nausea medication she was prescribed. She was able to start drinking again about a couple of days after the procedure and was back in school a few days later.
